🚐 How to Get from Lombok to Sumbawa

You have two main ways to make the crossing: direct bus (with ferry included) or DIY ferry from Kayangan to Poto Tano.

1️⃣ Option 1 – Direct Bus from Mataram

  • Bus Company: Titan Mas

  • Route: Mataram (Lombok) → Sumbawa Besar (Sumbawa)

  • Price: 230K IDR per person

  • Includes: Ferry ticket + one meal

  • Travel Time: ~10 hours total (bus + ferry)

  • Contact (Hotline):

    • 📱 0877-8753-6000

    • 📱 +62 852-0587-5604

  • Pros: No need to arrange separate tickets or transfers - the bus drives onto the ferry and continues after landing.

  • Cons: Less flexibility on departure times; may wait for bus schedules.

2️⃣ Option 2 – DIY Ferry from Kayangan to Poto Tano

  1. Get to Pelabuhan Kayangan Harbor (East Lombok).

    • From Mataram/Kuta: ~2–3 hours by car, motorbike, or taxi.

  2. Buy a Ferry Ticket:

    • Price: ~75K IDR per person (motorbike under 500cc included).

    • Tickets available at the harbor or online via the Ferizy website.

  3. Ferry Crossing:

    • Duration: 1–2 hours.

    • Frequency: Around every hour.

    • Important: Always check the weather forecast - sailings may be canceled in rough seas.

  4. Arrival in Poto Tano, Sumbawa:

    • Continue to your destination by local bus, shared car, or motorbike.

💡 Travel Tips

  • Weather Check: Especially important during rainy season; ferries can be delayed or canceled.

  • Bring Snacks & Water: Options onboard can be limited.

  • Book in Advance (DIY route): The Ferizy website makes buying ferry tickets easier, especially in high season.

  • Motorbike Riders: Arrive early to secure a spot - ferries fill up with trucks and buses quickly.
