Chenghuang Pavilion - or City God Pavilion - is a must-visit spot in Hangzhou.

About Chenghuang Pavilion

Chenghuang Pavilion, atop Wu Mountain, is the perfect spot to get a birds eye view of the city and lake below. While it was built in the 1990's, it takes much of it's architectural style from the Yuan and Ming Dynaasties.

But actually, while Chenghuang Pavilion is great, it is the view of the pavilion itself that is the star of the show. Wander a bit further down the path and you'll find a second, much smaller pavilion just above the treeline. From there you can perfectly capture Chenghuang Pavilion.

Recommended viewing time: sunset, that way you can also see the tower with the lights on as the sun dims.

Getting to Chenghuang Pavilion

The easiest way to get there would be take a didi, or to walk from Hefang Street below.
