A taoist mountain famous for it's cloud inversions

About Sanqing Mountain

Sanqingshan is somewhat Huangshan's younger brother so-to-speak.

A Taoist sacred mountain, Sanqingsan is almost like a vertical forest, with small waterfalls eventually giving way to more rocky outposts.

There are 2 main entrances but be wary that it's almost impossible to get up without a cablecar so you'll want to arrive before 5pm to guarantee a spot up.

There's also quite a few camp grounds up there so if you're planning on something a little different then there are definitely worse decisions that you can make compared to staying up there for the night to catch the stars and waking up to a cloud inversion.

Getting to Sanqingshan

the easiest way is to catch either a flight or train to Shangrao and then to get either a taxi or the bus up to the mountain.

There is a bus every hour from the airport and train station up to the cablecar stop.
