A mountaintop viewpoint of the majestic Gongga mountain.
About Zimeiyakou
Zimei pass is a small road that leads off from the path to Lenggacuo into the small patch of mountains sitting between it, and Gongga.
When conditions allow - the mountaintop viewpoint offers an amazing view of the mountain.
On the drive up, why not stop off and do a spot of yak-watching. It may sound strange, but the area is actually famous for their yak!
A lot of people actually camp here overnight to catch both the sunset and the sunrise so, if you're the camping type - there are certainly worse places to wake up.
Note that the road condition is very poor - as usual - and that it can often snow because of the altitude. I've seen more than a couple of smaller cars get up there before the snow falls and then now be able to make it down. 10/10 go for a SUV for here.
Also, the pass is at about 4,600m of altitude - so there is the possibility of altitude sickness. I'd recommend carrying a bottle of oxygen just in case.
