What Not to Order in Bangkok - Honest Food Opinions
Not everything famous is exceptional
Margo Ask
Bangkok , Thailand
Bangkok has extraordinary food, but not every popular dish lives up to the hype.
Oyster omelet at Pier 21: The temperature contrast ruined it for us. Half-warm oysters inside a hot omelet just didn’t land.
5-berry dessert: Sweet. Just sweet. No personality.
7-Eleven triangle sushi: Mostly rice. Almost no filling.
Mango sticky rice: Controversial, I know. But perfectly ripe Thai mango doesn’t need rice. I’d rather spend those calories elsewhere.
Satay skewers: Often overdried. In a city with this much culinary depth, you can do better.
Sleep gummies: Took three. Nothing.
Curiosity is rewarded. Blind hype is not.
