If you're planning a visit to the Tien Shan Mountains, you'll most likely travel along this route. Standing at 4,011 meters, this is the highest drivable mountain pass in Kyrgyzstan.
The road is unmarked, unpaved, and can become dangerous in poor weather, particularly due to sudden fog, rain, or snowfall—even in summer. That said, the drive offers incredible panoramic views of the valley below. If you're not affected by the high altitude, be sure to stop and step outside to take in the dramatic valley views stretching far below.
Tip: Always check the weather conditions before setting out, and avoid this route after heavy rainfall or snow. A 4x4 vehicle is strongly recommended.
