This is Kazakhstan's most iconic chocolate brand, founded in 1942, locals grew up with it and it's still very much a big deal. The factory store is right next to the Green Bazaar, which makes it an easy and very satisfying combo visit, but they have plenty shops around the city.

Inside you'll find hundreds of varieties of chocolates and candies at really good prices. It gets busy, so give yourself enough time to actually browse without feeling rushed. The beautifully wrapped boxes with traditional Kazakh patterns make perfect gifts to bring home. Must tries: Ptichye Moloko, Mishutka, and the marshmallow Zefir.

One thing to know: you can't go inside the factory itself, but the store alone is worth it. If you want a more immersive experience, some local tour operators offer combined Green Bazaar and Rakhat visits with tastings, which is a fun way to do it.
