Almaty Central Mosque is one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in Kazakhstan.
It’s best to visit outside of prayer times (and Fridays), as it gets very crowded then. Visitors are welcome, but dress modestly: cover shoulders and legs, and women should bring a scarf to cover their head. If you don’t have one, there are usually sellers around the mosque where you can buy one.
Entrance is free, but you always can donate a small amount of money in the boxes inside.
