The museum takes you through everything from Bronze Age burials and nomadic culture all the way to the Soviet era and modern Kazakhstan. A large replica of the Golden Man stands right in the entrance hall, a national symbol and one of the most iconic archaeological finds in the country.

Don't miss the Hall of Gold, it houses outstanding ancient gold adornments mainly from Scythian burials, but requires a separate ticket. All exhibits have English labels, which makes it easy to follow. Plan around 1.5 to 2 hours.
