King & Queen Pagoda

The King and Queen Pagodas, located almost at the summit of Doi Inthanon in Chiang Mai are twin royal chedis dedicated to King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit. These pagodas were built by the Royal Thai Air Force to commemorate their Majesties' birthdays.

The pagodas are the most popular view in Doi Inthanon National Park and are NOT to be missed as they are absolutely stunning. However, while the pagodas themselves are pretty, the main draw of the area is actually the incredibly beautiful gardens and the STUNNING views, since the area offers some of the best views in Doi Inthanon National Park. To see the views you will need to be there on a clear day, since on a cloudy day the whole area gets engulfed in clouds.

ENTRY FEE to the pagodas is 100 baht extra on top of the national park fee and they only take cash (like most places in Thailand). You pay by the entrance to the pagodas.

You'll have to park by the parking for the Kew Mae Pan Trail and then walk down to the entrance to the King & Queen Pagodas.

TIP: The photos of the pagodas together from above are taken from the Kew Mae Pan Trail!

It can be cold up here so bring a coat and long trousers!

*Part of Doi Inthanon National Park - entry ticket for the whole national park is needed to access*
