Get ready for one of the most spectacular hikes in the country, the famous Balcony Walk. This trail, starting from the small village of Al Khitaym, is carved right into the side of Oman's own Grand Canyon, offering absolutely breathtaking views into the deep gorge below. The path is a relatively easy-going 8km round trip that leads you along the canyon rim to a fascinating abandoned village clinging to the rockface. It'll take you about 3 to 4 hours, with the walk back being a gradual uphill climb. Just be sure to wear some sturdy shoes for the rocky path!
