Perched right above the harbor, Mutrah Fort offers some of the most stunning panoramic views you'll find of the corniche and the old city. It's a bit of a climb up a series of stone stairs to the top, but it's absolutely worth it for the scenery, especially as the sun begins to set. There isn't a lot to see inside the fort itself, but there's a charming little café where you can grab a coffee and just soak in the incredible atmosphere. The entrance fee for non-residents is 3 Omani riyals.
