Faroe Islands

There are different strategies when it comes to accommodations in the Faroe.

  • Staying in one place and moving around the islands everyday with the car.

  • Staying at severals places across the islands.

I don’t think there is a good one and a bad one, it depends how you feel about driving and if you want to try something different every nights.

During my trip, I chose to stay in the capital city of Torshavn all the time and move around every day. At the end of the trip, I did around 1500+ km in about 6 days, but it wasn’t that tiring. You can find a lot of different properties on Booking.com or Airbnb. Most of them are shared apartment (you have your own room and the kitchen/bathroom/living room is shared with others travellers)

I would also recommend having a kitchen in your apartment especially if you are travelling in a budget since restaurant are quite expensive in the Faroe.

Here is the booking.com link to the stay I had during my week. It is located right on Tórshavn’s Harbor. It is very quiet and there is a large parking just a few meters away. The lady owning the place is very accommodating and kind. I would recommend this place if you don’t want to bother searching for another one.
