Eat and drink
Where to eat and to have a drink?

Faroe Islands
Eating in the Faroe can be quite expensive. As they are islands, most of the food is imported from the mainland and it can be seen on the price. During my trip, we were eating sandwiches for lunch while roaming and eating at fast food restaurants at night. However I still recommend to try at least one good restaurant for having some local grown salmon or some sheep dishes. Sheep are very common in the Faroe. Some even say that there are more sheep than humans in the archipelago.
Most of the restaurants and places to eat are found in Torshavn. If you are planning a trip to a small village, you might find tiny cafés managed by some locals there, but it will get you some coffee and waffles at most.
I particularly enjoyed two places in Torshavn. The first one is not very original but it is the Burger King, as it is the only fast food and the cheapest solution to eat in the capital. The second one is the Torsol pub. This is a local bar with old fishermen. You can see other people having drinks, singing and playing music and darts. The ambiance there was very special and it really added something to the trip.
