Gearing up for the Faroe
What to bring?
Benoit GILLE
Faroe Islands
Faroe Islands are beautiful but it’s cold and steep. This is a bit caricatural but not that wrong. So regardless of the season you go, you will want to have some waterproof vests, hot layers and good shoes for walking.
Of course you will need your driving license if you choose to rent a car. If you are from the EU, you don’t need an international driving license.
I also recommend power banks and extra batteries for drones or cameras as you will probably be amazed by the landscapes all around the islands and you will use these devices a lot and you don’t want to run out of power.
I would also recommend having some cash. There are severals ATM on the archipelago, but mainly in Torshavn and Klakslvik. In the Faroe, there are a lot of walks that crosses private lands, so there is often a barrier or toll before starting the walk where you have to pay a fee. Most of the time it is only payable by cash.
Finally, if you are from Europe, there is no need to have an adaptor for charging your devices.
