Highlights

Among the 18 islands of the Faroe, not all of them are worth visiting. Some are isolated, others inhabited or not open to tourism. If you look at the map, there are 3 main islands that must be seen if you are here for a short time.

Vagar is the Island of the airport, so it most likely on this island that you will arrive first. It turns out that it is also the island with the best faroe islands spots in my opinion. Traelanipa, Dragarnir and Mulafossur are the unskippable attractions there. And trust me, it’s worth it. I will give more details and pictures later on that guide. Then on Streymoy, there is the capital city of Torshavn where a lot of feries leave for other islands of the archipelago. The island is also home of some of the most iconic villages such as Saksun and Tjornuvik. Finally, the island of Eysturoy is worth exploring by car and is also home of some iconic locations such as the Gjogv Canyon. It is also the gateway to continue the journey further to the others islands.
