Faroe Islands

The national airline is Atlantic airways. The main route is the one that links Copenhagen to the only airport in the faroe (Vagar). Some other airlines such as SAS or IcelandAir are also options. Here is the map showing all of the routes. You can check the best prices on Skyscanner and check all the direct connections of the Airport on FlightsFrom.

You can also reach the country by boat. Ferries are quite frequent from Iceland and Denmark. You can check the Smyril website for more info.

I struggled to leave the Faroe Islands by plane because of the weather. The plane was supposed to leave on Saturday morning, but the weather on Friday was bad and all flights were canceled. So on Saturday, the airlines had to catch back the previous cancelled flights and the weather was still very bad. In the end, my flight was canceled and I had to find a place to spend one more night in the Faroe. The airline paid for the room and for the bus ticket yo go back to Torshavn. But on Sunday, it was still very foggy and my plane took off quite late, which made me miss my connecting flight in Copenhagen and I had to book one more night here too, also at the expenses of the airline.

So just remember that you might face troubles when flying in and out because of the weather, but the airline does it best to cover the unexpected expenses.
