The SEA LIFE Trust Beluga Whale Sanctuary, also known as Sæheimar Aquarium, is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at providing beluga whales with a more natural and safe home. With support from Merlin Entertainments and Whale and Dolphin Conservation (WDC), the sanctuary is dedicated to advancing knowledge through research and education while supporting the protection of belugas in the wild. By caring for their first resident whales, Little Grey and Little White, the charity incurs monthly costs of £37,400/$45,000, covering everything from food and daily care to essential health checks. Through their efforts, they hope to inspire others to consider sanctuaries as a viable alternative for marine animals currently housed in traditional facilities or performing in shows worldwide.
