Rauðasandur Beach, also known as Red Sands Beach, is a stunning remote red beach located in the Westfjords of Iceland. The unique reddish sand gets its color from pulverized scallop shells, making it stand out among Iceland's typically black beaches. Accessible via a winding gravel road, the beach stretches for about 10 km and offers a tranquil escape surrounded by beautiful nature. Visitors can enjoy the picturesque views, spot grey seals sunbathing on the shore, and even learn about the tragic historical events that took place at Sjöundá farm nearby.
