Witu Forest, located in Lamu District, Kenya, is a protected area covering approximately 11,463 acres of land. Established in 1927, it combines the Utwani and Gongoni Forest Reserves. Despite being legally protected, the forest faces challenges such as illegal logging, posing a threat to its biodiversity. The lack of a management plan has led to ongoing issues with conservation efforts.
