Secret Island Getaway in Belize

Honestly, Tobacco Caye Paradise was one of the highlights of Belize. The island is tiny — you can literally walk around it in 5–10 minutes — but it’s packed with charm. There are just a handful of over the water cabins and a main dining area, so it feels super private, and the turquoise water is literally all around you. It’s like a little slice of paradise all to yourself.

Everything is included (depending on package) when you stay here, which is amazing — unlimited snorkelling right off the island, kayaks and SUP boards whenever you want, plus all your meals. And the food was unreal. One night, the locals brought in fresh-caught lobster (15USD per), and we had it cooked up for dinner — honestly one of the best meals of the trip.

Getting there is part of the fun. Most people take a water taxi from Dangriga or Hopkins, which takes about 1.5–2 hours, and the ride itself gives you those epic Caribbean views. Prices for staying at Tobacco Caye Paradise are around 180–250 USD per night, which feels more than fair considering everything is included, and you’re basically in your own tropical playground.

It’s the perfect place if you just want to switch off, float in the water, snorkel over the reef, and watch the sunset every evening. Seriously, if island life is your thing, this is one of those stays you’ll never forget.
