If you have a 4WD, the Brachina Gorge Driving Trail is a fantastic way to explore one of the Flinders Ranges' most significant geological sites (if you have a 2WD skip this destination and head to Moralana Scenic Drive). This 20km self-drive trail offers a unique opportunity to see ancient rock formations, fossilized remains, and meteorite debris. Along the way, you'll spot informative signage about the region's climatic history, geological evolution, and early life forms. Keep an eye out for the elusive Yellow-footed rock wallabies. While I only had a 2WD and couldn't tackle this drive, I highly recommend it if you're equipped with a 4WD for a deeper dive into Earth's history and stunning natural beauty.
