What a beautiful river and swimming hole Hoffmans Pool is! Located in the Kauaeranga Valley, this is a lovely spot for a refreshing dip and a picnic. To get there, you'll need to drive along a gravel road—it's very safe, just take your time. From the carpark, it’s a short 250-meter walk down to the pool. The pool itself is pretty deep, and during my visit, I shared the area with a local family jumping off the rocks. If you decide to try cliff jumping, make sure to check the depths and stay safe. Even if you're not up for a swim (the water is very icy!), it's still a stunning river to walk along and rock-hop.
