The main campground at Ormiston Gorge caters to a variety of camping styles, from tent setups to camper trailers. Located just a short walk from the stunning, towering walls and the permanent waterhole, it’s an excellent base for exploring the gorge. At dusk, the waterhole becomes a prime spot to catch glimpses of waterbirds and the elusive Black-footed Rock-wallabies. The campground offers amenities such as flushing toilets, showers, gas barbecues, and picnic facilities for a comfortable stay. Mobile coverage is available through Optus only. The cost is $10.00 per person per night, and booking in advance is crucial as spots can fill up quickly. You can find and book campsites through the Northern Territory Parks Booking system online. It's best to do this well in advance, as the campgrounds book up fast.
