Ellery Creek, nestled within the majestic West MacDonnell Ranges of Australia's Northern Territory, is a natural wonder that captivates visitors with its serene beauty and rugged charm. It is a picturesque waterhole, formed by the ancient forces of nature, that offers a refreshing oasis amid the arid landscape of the outback. Known to the Arrernte traditional owners as Udepata, Ellery Creek also holds ancient cultural significance.

Surrounded by towering red cliffs and native vegetation, Ellery Creek Big Whole provides the perfect setting for swimming, picnicking, and simply immersing oneself in the tranquility of nature. Whether you're keen on lounging on the sandy banks or taking a dip in the picturesque gorge, swimming here is a lovely experience. Personally, I didn’t swim as I had a nice dip in Ormiston Gorge but it was a beautiful place to connect with nature and have some lunch.
