Grampians National Park, the 4.7-kilometer return trail to Fish Falls is well-marked and super family-friendly. The track winds through beautiful forested areas, with scenic views that keep you motivated along the way. As you get closer to the falls, you’ll hear the gentle sound of water cascading over the rocks, and it’s such a treat to finally see this charming, less-crowded waterfall. While Fish Falls may not be as towering as some others, its tranquil beauty and the surrounding natural setting are absolutely enchanting.

The rocks here are amazing, and while my sister was busy identifying all the plant life (she’s totally obsessed with that), I climbed up the rocks towards the stream and enjoyed some stunning views from different angles. The rocks are perfect for sitting back and soaking up the sun, as you can see in the second photo here. It’s an ideal spot for a peaceful walk surrounded by nature’s beauty and for snapping some awesome photos.

Another fun highlight was meeting a classic Aussie friend at the Zumsteins car park where the trail starts. There was a super friendly emu that came right up to my sister and me, making for the perfect photo op. This curious guy didn’t hold back in introducing itself! Emus are pretty common throughout the Grampians National Park but keep an extra eye out here for a chance to meet one.
