Make sure to hydrate well before entering the steam baths and shower thoroughly with soap before entering the lagoon, as is customary in all Icelandic spas.

Tickets can be purchased online in advance. During summer, this is strongly recommended due to high demand.

Getting There

Mývatn Nature Baths are located just a few kilometers from Reykjahlíð, the main village in the Lake Mývatn region. The area is easily accessible by car and is a popular stop on the Diamond Circle route, which includes Húsavík, Ásbyrgi and Dettifoss.

There is free parking on site and signage makes it easy to find from the main road. The facility is open year-round, but winter driving conditions in the north can be challenging, so plan accordingly if visiting during colder months.
