Rent a car or hire a driver
Ireland might look small on a map but you'll need to organise transport
Conor McGowan
The whole of Ireland, Ireland
It's very easily to look at Ireland on a map and think it's small - for context the whole island of Ireland can fit into the state of Texas nearly 10 times!
If you feel comfortable driving (which is always my recommendation) the organise a rental car at the airport you're flying into - Dublin, Cork, Belfast, Shannon all have good options. Why am I so bullish on renting your own car? Having a car allows for serendipity. What I mean by that is you can make a last minute decision to go on a beautiful coasting drive and while en route, you see a beautiful beach or quirky little coffee shop and decide to drop in or even book a last minute sauna somewhere on a remote beach in Kerry!
Sometimes these little last minute decisions turn into the highlights of your whole trip.
However, I understand renting a car has it's downsides like being sometimes being a bit more stressful if you're not used to the roads or parking plus Ireland has very strict drink driving policies so if you would prefer to get someone else to do the driving for you, here's some chauffeur services I would recommend:
