Any of my friends and family will tell you I am a bakery queen, I love nothing than more than starting the weekend with a croissant and a coffee, preferably chocolate and almond! I also love a cold winter walk followed by a tea and a cake!

I am always on the hunt for the best Cornish bakeries and sweet treats!

My go to's at the moment are: Jam Jar Jess in Crantock, for a morning walk, peaceful sit, amazing smoothies and pastries! Blend in Newquay for a smoothie bowl, Electric Bakery in Bude for the Pistachio cruffin and of course, anyone who lives in Cornwall will tell you that Gorse is a must!

If you had to visit only two... Gorse and Electric Bakery are my tips!

Here is my full list... enjoy :)

☕ Laid-Back Cafés & Cake Stops

Great for coffee, sweets, and relaxed brunch:

• Jam Jar, Crantock – Loved for its outdoor seating! I recommend the pastries and smoothies!

• Newquay Blend, Newquay – Known for it's smoothie bowls! Also does coffees and pastries!

• Loaf’s, Penzance – A small bakery of local renown, serving sourdough loaves and pastries to go.

• Bread & Butter, Truro – Central café celebrated for fresh pastries, hearty lunches, and coffee.

• St Mawes Bakery, St Mawes – Praised for classic Cornish cakes and pasties by the harbour.

• Ladyvale Bakery (Nansldean) - A cake shop passionate about creative baking, combining unique flavours, and adorning their bakes with home grown florals, and swirly sweetness!

🥐 Artisan Bakeries

For sourdough, golden pastries, and serious bread lovers:

• Da Bara Bakery (St Just, Truro, Wheal Rose, Indian Queens, Wadebridge) – Famous for sticky buns, focaccia, sourdough, and breakfast buns.

• Stones Bakery, Falmouth – Known for its croissants, cinnamon knots, and artisan loaves.

• Electric Bakery, Bude – Offers naturally leavened bread, croissants, and coffee. I really do think this is one of the best ones in Cornwall, I had a pistachio cruffin which I really haven't stopped thinking about..!

• Mardy Bakery, Fowey – Specialises in Nordic-style sourdough and pastries.

• Butchers Bakehouse (St Columb Major & Wadebridge) – Highly rated for sourdough loaves, brownies, and breakfast buns.

• St Agnes Bakery, St Agnes – One of Cornwall’s traditional bakeries, offering pasties.

• Gorse Bakery, Newquay – Small-batch bakery known for its seasonal pastries and bread! Gorgeous setting, close to the A30 so can often pop in on the way to adventuring!

🌿 Destination Bakeries

Worth the scenic detour for setting:

• Bedruthan Bakery, Mawgan Porth (Bedruthan Steps) – Situated cliff-top, offering freshly baked goods with coastal views.

• Crocadon Courtyard & Bakery, near Saltash – Bakery attached to a working farm with seasonal produce.

• Coombeshead Farm Bakery, near Launceston – Farm bakery recognised for its loaves and pastries.

🧺 Quick Tips

• Go early—fresh batches sell out fast.

• Suitable for takeaway—ideal for breakfast at the beach or on the cliffs.
