This is a hike we didn’t complete in full. A bit further down in the article, you can see how far we walked. When you arrive, you can park your car here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/9H6kCbGxPoBtT3aL8. There’s plenty of space, and there’s also a small taverna next to the parking area.
The trail begins a little past the taverna. The first part is flat, and you walk on loose gravel—nothing special. At the end of this road you turn left, and that’s where the actual hike begins. You’ll occasionally need to scramble over small rocks, and at one point, you even need to climb a ladder to continue.
We hiked as far as the Church of St. Dimitrius. It’s a charming little chapel where you can take a break in the shade on a bench. There’s also a small water fountain (we’re not sure if the water is drinkable), but it’s refreshing nonetheless.
Up to the chapel, the hike isn’t too demanding—it’s quite manageable. From there, you can continue on to the Peristeriona waterfall. We didn’t go that far because it was too hot. The part we did was enjoyable, though we’ve done more impressive hikes before. You'll see butterflies during the hike.
