The oak tree from Mercheașa is a remarkable natural landmark. It's called also the old tree of the Carpathians.

Rest in its shade, enjoy the moment on one of the benches set up in the enclosure that surrounds it. Hold it in your arms and feel its energy.

The oak tree has a diameter of 2.93m measured at a height of 1.3m. It has a circumference of 9.3m; 6 people cannot grasp it. His estimated age through statistical calculations is 900 years.

To reach it you will have to take a short but pleasant hike on a path that runs among other centuries-old oak trees. It's part of a thematic route that leads to Racos Volcano.
