Johnston Canyon is a must-visit when in the Canadian Rockies, and it is also a popular hike because of this. The hike is fairly flat and you have the option to hike as far back as you would like. But because of this we recommend this being your first stop of the day. Which honestly is perfect, because it is off of the bow valley parkway, where there is typically lots of animal activity in the mornings.
