Getting Around
In this guide, I mainly use a car to get to different places and attractions. Driving in Denmark is easy and relaxed, even if it is your first time visiting. The roads are in good condition, the signs are clear, and drivers are generally polite.
Remember to:
Drive on the right side of the road.
Follow the speed limits.
Always watch out for cyclists.
There are no toll roads in Denmark. However, if you drive across Storebæltsbroen (the bridge between the islands of Funen and Zealand), you must pay a toll. Read more here
Exploring by Bike
Almost everyone in Denmark owns a bike. You can cycle almost everywhere using dedicated bike lanes and quiet country roads.
I won't cover cycling in detail in this guide, but it's worth knowing that Denmark is one of the best countries in the world for cycling. If you're interested, you can learn more about Denmark's 11 national cycling routes here.
Public Transport
Public transport in Denmark is reliable, clean, and easy to use. Trains, buses, and the metro connect cities, towns, and the countryside. You can buy digital tickets, and most services run frequently.
A great tool for planning your journey is Rejseplanen, which shows train and bus routes, departure times, and connections. Read more here
