Come wander through the ruins of Gortyna, once the mighty Roman capital of Crete. Right from the entrance, you'll be standing before the incredible stone walls of the Odeon, inscribed with the ancient Gortyn Law Code—it's a powerful link to the past. Just beyond, you can explore the grand remains of the Basilica of St. Titus and find the legendary plane tree where Zeus and Europa's story unfolded. The main site is a gentle walk, but for the more adventurous, further ruins are scattered across the road and up on the acropolis, offering a deeper sense of the city's vast scale.

The entrance fee for the Gortyna Archaeological Site in Crete is generally 6€ for a full ticket, with a reduced ticket price of 3€, according to October 2024 information. Some sources indicate that fees might be up to 10€ for the main site or varied options. Children under 18 usually receive free admission.
