Get ready for an amazing 8-day vegan hiking adventure in Cornwall
This 8-day section of the South West Coast Path is fantastic, it's truly world-class hiking and the vegan options over the week are delicious!
There is quite a lot of planning and prep to do so here's a checklist to help you get started.
3 To 6 Months Out
Get your hotels booked: This is probably the most time-consuming part of the planning. If you're following the full 8-day itinerary, you'll need to check that each hotel or B&B has availability for the dates you want before making the bookings; otherwise, if you book day one and two, then realise there's no availability for day five and six you're in trouble! Besides St Ives and Penzance, which are larger towns, there are no alternative accommodation options en route.
Book luggage transfers: This one is easy, just plug in your dates and accommodation, and you're done!
Book your Transport to St Ives: Get flights and train journeys booked if you're coming from abroad and any transfers with John & Mel from Chard cars.
2 To 3 Weeks Out
Reconfirm any airport, train station or hiking transfers with John and Mel
Reach out to Yvette from Yvettes Pantry and pre-order some vegan cupcakes that you can pick up when you arrive, it's so worth it!
Download the OS Maps app and save the daily route links you'll find on the Hike #1,2,3,4,5,6 day pins, make sure to save them for offline use
Get familiar with the Met Office weather site/app that you'll be using throughout the hike
Go through the packing list and make sure you have everything you need
1 Week Out
If you're using trains and public transport to get to St Ives check the Vegan Food In The UK pin and make sure you're stocked up for your journey and book the restaurant for your first night in St Ives
Have an amazing hike!
