Ladies View is one of those stops on the Ring of Kerry that really lives up to its reputation. I remember pulling in and immediately understanding why it’s so famous. The view opens out across rolling valleys, lakes, and mountains, all layered together in a way that feels both vast and calm at the same time. No matter how many photos you’ve seen beforehand, standing there in person feels different.

What I liked most was how the landscape seems to stretch endlessly. The lakes below catch the light, the mountains rise softly in the distance, and everything feels balanced and still. I found myself leaning on the railing for a while, just watching clouds drift and noticing how the colours shift depending on the weather. It’s the kind of place that naturally makes you slow down.

It’s an easy stop with parking right by the viewpoint, which makes it simple to pull in, take a breath, and enjoy one of Kerry’s classic views without any effort. Even with other visitors around, there’s something peaceful about it that stays with you as you continue the drive.

Note: The viewpoint is exposed, so it can be windy or cool even on warmer days. Take care around the edge and allow time to enjoy the view rather than rushing on.
