Kinbane Head is a rugged, windswept headland just outside Ballycastle, offering one of the most dramatic viewpoints on the Causeway Coast. Reached by a steep path, the promontory leads to the atmospheric ruins of Kinbane Castle, a 16th-century stronghold of the MacDonnell clan perched on a narrow limestone outcrop. The walk down and back up is steep but rewarded with sweeping views over Rathlin Island, the Antrim cliffs, and the crashing Atlantic below. Quiet, wild, and less visited than other coastal sites, Kinbane Head is a perfect stop for travellers seeking raw scenery, history, and a sense of solitude.
