Just outside the village of Carnlough, a short, easy walk brings you to Cranny Falls, a lovely waterfall tucked into the hillside above the old limestone quarry. The trail starts near the harbour and follows a gentle incline along a well-marked path, passing through trees and old quarry workings that hint at the area’s industrial past.
As you approach the top, the sound of water grows stronger before the falls come into view, a steady curtain of water dropping into a shaded pool, especially impressive after rain. There’s a viewing platform where you can take in the scene safely, and if you turn around, you’ll also get excellent views across Carnlough Bay and the surrounding countryside.
It’s a pleasant, accessible walk, about 20 minutes each way and a great way to see another side of the Antrim Coast, mixing natural beauty with a touch of local history.
Note, this is a flat walk each way so suitable for all abilities!
