Lagan Adventures lets you swap asphalt for water by pedaling across the River Lagan on hydrobikes, essentially water‑based bicycles that stay dry and stable as you ride. The launch point is beside Belfast's Waterfront Hall, giving you easy access from the city centre. As you pedal, you’ll drift past iconic riverside sights — including historic cranes, bridges, old industrial buildings, and the changing skyline — offering a refreshing and scenic way to experience Belfast on foot‑turned‑paddle‑turned‑pedal.
You don’t need to be a water sports pro (or even know how to swim) the hydrobikes are unsinkable and very stable, and safety gear is provided. The activity suits a wide range of people: solo explorers, couples, families (kids from around age 4 can join, using child‑seat bikes), or groups. Riders can choose a relaxed, gentle pace for sightseeing, or a more energetic pedal for a light workout. For extra novelty, there’s even an evening option — “Hydrobikes by Light” — where you glide under Belfast’s nighttime glow, the bikes illuminated gently as the cityscape reflects in the water.
Note: There’s no on‑site parking at the launch area, but parking is available a short walk away (e.g. around Lanyon Place or nearby transport hubs)
