Message from Kieran - Exploring Scotland

Dunalastair House, located in the southern Highlands of Scotland, is an estate with a rich history. It sits along the River Tummel and is close to the former home of Clan Donnachaidh. Despite popular belief, the current ruined house has no direct connection to the clan, as it was built after the land was sold. The estate features the ruins of an old mansion built in 1862 by General Macdonald, replacing a previous structure destroyed after the 1745 rebellion. Overlooking the peak of Schiehallion, Dunalastair House is steeped in Scottish heritage and offers a glimpse into the region's past.
