Kieran - Exploring Scotland

Dunure Castle, located on the west coast of Scotland near Ayr, stands in ruins on a rocky promontory overlooking the small harbour of Dunure. Dating back to the late 13th century, the castle was once home to the Kennedys of Carrick. In a dark twist, the castle's history includes a gruesome incident where the Commendator of Crossraguel Abbey was tortured over a land dispute. Despite its demise in the 17th century, Dunure Castle remains a fascinating site for visitors to explore and uncover its intriguing past.
