Camping at Jebel Shams means you're gonna be sleeping at nearly 3,000 meters - and yes, it gets cold. Very cold. So bring plenty of warm clothes, layers, AND a proper sleeping bag!

The canyon below, Wadi Ghul, creates dramatic sunrise views. Waking up early here is absolutely worth it.

  • The camp is relatively close to the road - you may hear traffic

  • Jebel Shams is very popular and you will likely not be camping alone
