What to order:

Order the beef phở with raw slices of beef placed in the bowl and cooked tableside with boiling broth. This is classic Hanoi-style phở, simple, no extras, all about the quality of the broth and beef.

Why it’s here:

We didn’t manage to get here ourselves, but this spot comes up again and again as one of Hanoi’s most traditional breakfast phở stops. Its recommended by Mark Wiens and is well known for its early opening hours and old-school approach. If you want to experience phở the way locals eat it first thing in the morning, this is one to know about.

Tip:

Go early. They’re usually open from 6:30am until 10am. and close once they sell out. If you visit, let us know how it is – we’d love to hear how it compares to our favourite phở spots in Hanoi.
