Google Maps might say a drive will take three hours, but you’ll almost certainly stop along the way. South Africa is full of scenic mountain passes, roadside farm stalls, viewpoints, beaches, wineries, and wildlife. I always recommend allowing extra time for spontaneous stops. You’ll often discover places that never made it onto your itinerary.
