Located just north of Kiama, Minnamurra Beach, affectionately called Mystics Beach by locals — is a stunning, unspoiled stretch of coastline where the Minnamurra River meets the Pacific Ocean. Known for its golden sand, rolling surf, and tranquil estuary, it’s a favourite destination for surfers, swimmers, and families alike.

The northern end of the beach offers excellent surf breaks, while the southern side near the river mouth is calmer, perfect for paddling, picnicking, or stand-up paddleboarding. Backed by Killalea Regional Park, it’s also part of the National Surfing Reserve, celebrating the area’s rich surf culture and natural beauty.

TIP: Bring your surfboard or picnic basket and stay for sunset, the colours over the headlands are spectacular.
