Kiyomizu-dera, also known as the "Pure Water Temple," is a famous and picturesque temple in Kyoto, Japan. Built in 780, it's renowned for its stunning wooden stage that offers panoramic views of cherry blossoms in spring and colorful foliage in autumn. Visitors can sip from the sacred Otowa Waterfall for blessings of longevity, success, and love. Don't miss the Jishu Shrine for matchmaking luck and the Koyasu Pagoda for safe childbirth wishes. The temple's historic charm and spiritual significance make it a must-visit destination in Kyoto.

TIPS - There are often special night viewings when the temple is lit up at night throughout the year which is totally worth going for (we visited a second time in the night as well). You can also visit some exceptional Japanese gardens and various traditional events. Dates can be seen on their website (linked below).
