Hokoku Shrine's Senjokaku Pavilion, also known as the "pavilion of 1000 mats," is a spacious wooden hall located next to Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima Island. Built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1587 for chanting Buddhist sutras, the unfinished building was later dedicated to his soul. Despite its incomplete state, Senjokaku offers a serene atmosphere and a glimpse into Japan's historical past.
