The magnificent Lofoten archipelago in Nordland, Norway offers truly mesmerizing views for visitors. Covering an area of 1,227 km2 (474 sq mi), the archipelago is home to two unique towns: Svolvær and Leknes. It lays just over the Arctic Circle and only 2,420 km (1,500 mi) from the North Pole. Its stunning landscape features dramatic mountains, peaks open sea, sheltered bays, beaches and untouched lands. Ancient history can be traced here as far back to 11,000 years. In addition, the Archipelago experiences one of the world's largest temperature anomalies compared to its high latitude. These captivating features make it a perfect holiday destination.
