For a truly memorable experience, make your way to Knockdrum Stone Fort, perched on a hilltop with breathtaking views over the Atlantic. Be prepared for a bit of a walk to get there; parking is very limited at the trailhead, so it's best to leave your car at the church about a 10-minute walk away. From the access point, a path and a steep stone staircase of about 100 steps lead you up to the ancient fort—the climb is absolutely worth it for the incredible coastal scenery and the sense of history you'll feel exploring the stone walls.
