We probably all know Elephant Rock or Icelandic “Fíllinn“ from social media. Since some years it is a known picture in several social media channels.

There are different ways to take a look at the fascinating rock formation.

1. The probably easiest is to take a look at it from the golf course. You can take a walk around there and check it out by foot. This is also the only way to choose if you are visiting the Vestmannaeyar in winter.

2. You will get a better view by approaching it by boat. This option is only available from May to September by booking one of the boat tours around Heimaey.
